Uganda Wildlife Education Centre gets a Male Leopard | UWEC | ZOO

The Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) in Entebbe formally known as the ZOO got a new leopard last week, adding onto their range of animals.

The Bester bird Park in Pretoria, South Africa, under the animal exchange programme, sent the one-year-old male leopard to (UWEC)

The UWEC education officer, James Musinguzi, said the centre last had a leopard, which died of old age, eight years ago.

He added that the leopard, which will feed on about 4kg of beef every day, would boost domestic tourism.

A leopard’s life expectancy is 15 years in the wilderness but it can live to 28 years in captivity.
