A number of tour operators from Uganda have visited Seychelles for four days sponsored by Uganda Travel Bureau and Seychelles Tourism Board to know what the country has.
This has been the first time the Ugandan tour operators have received such invitation yet they have been selling the destination to Ugandans mostly those on a honey moon.
The managing Director of UTB, Pearl Hoareau said 643 Ugandans visited the island in 2011 and the number is expected to double in 2012.
Tour operators have been selling the destination without knowing what is there but they have visited the area and now they know what to market exactly.
The tour operators have been able to view the different beaches, tourism facilities and hotels on the islands. Tourism is the major source of income of the country on the Indian Ocean.
