Uganda’s exports and imports will be handled by an inland port on Lake Victoria which will be built by Gauff Engineering Company soon.
This opportunity was welcomed by Uganda’s Vice president, Prof. Gilbert Bukenya as he carried out discussions with the company’s Administrator Markus Gauff and other executives at the Parliamentary VIP lounge in Kampala. Prof. Bukenya affirmed that the country needs such an investment to boost economic activities and trade with the neighboring countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda as well as save on the freight charges on road transport across the borders.
The Vice President pledged full government support to the Germany investors and informed them of viable investment opportunities in other sectors like food and fruit processing.
