Horse riding safaris have been introduced in Singita Grumeti Reserves and this has led to an increase in the number of luxury tourist from different countries to Tanzania.the safaris have been in existence since 2010 with an aim of promoting tourism and supporting nature from un necessary use of motor vehicle during game driving in the reserve that covers 140,000 hectares.
The area is located next to Serengeti National Park which is the country’s major tourist destination and it is where the annual migration route of a millions of wildlife like zebras, wildebeests and gazelles.
There are 18 horses that the visitors use to view the beautiful wildlife like the buffaloes, antelopes, cheetah, eland topi, elephants and the big five.
Horse riding is a tourism product and it has become popular in different countries in a short period of time so the law should increase on the number of horses to be used in the reserves. The activity is carried out in areas with short grass and instead of conducting it for five months; it will be conducted throughout the year.
