A Chinese tourist has been killed by a hippopotamus near Lake Naivasha in Kenya’s Great Riff Valley, medics said on Monday.
The woman, said to be in her 30s, was attacked by a hippo mother after trying to take photos of a baby hippo, the Standard newspaper reported.
Wildlife officials shot the mother hippo dead after the incident which took place at a country club near a nature reserve.
The woman died en route to hospital and her body was being moved to Nairobi.
