Global Traveler hosted its 11th annual GT Tested Reader Survey awards reception Monday, December 15, at The Peninsula Beverly Hills. This is the fourth consecutive year the event has been held at The Peninsula Beverly Hills, named Best Individual Hotel in the United States in this year’s survey.
More than 200 guests gathered to congratulate the respected winners on their achievements. Guest of honor Michael Yo appeared on behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Yo is a television host and comedian, appearing on Chelsea Lately, The Insider and The Talk.
Yo urged attendees to donate travel-related prizes to Global Traveler’s charity auction, benefitting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The auction kicks off March 1. Founded in 1949 and headquartered in White Plains, N.Y., LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. Award winners traveled from around the world to accept accolades on behalf of their companies. Nearly 50 awards were presented at the event, held in the hotel’s Verandah room. Event sponsors included Incheon Airport, China Airlines and Westin. Raffles were held for five bottles of Dom Perignon (sponsored by China Airlines) and a Tamron camera lens.
In addition to the GT Tested Reader Survey awards and the Wines on the Wing winners, the 2014 Airline of the Year winner was honored. United Airlines celebrated the top achievement in 2014.
