Rwanda came out on ‘top of Africa’ as the emerging destination of the year, according to the just published results of the British ‘Wanderlust Travel Awards’.
Thousands of readers of the magazine participated in the polling, putting Rwanda not just on top of the African rankings but also into the top five globally.
Tourism stakeholders expressed their immediate delight over this latest accolade received by the country.
One regular source in Kigali said, “I think our hard work is paying off now. We have turned tourism around in this country over the past 10 years. We have added new attractions and government has created new national parks and is in the process of evaluation more areas for the same. I can only say thank you to the readers of Wanderlust magazine for honoring us so much, but this is also a challenge to continue doing better and more still from now on.”
Congrats to the ‘land of a thousand hills’, the tourism and conservation team at RDB and all the tourism stakeholders for their exemplary performance.
