After an outcry from different Uganda Tourism Stakeholders to the Government to Reduce the Tourist Visa fee to the Country, the Ugandan Government has finally reduced it to 50USD.
A month back, different Tour operators including a senior marketing officer at Uganda Tourism Board Sylvia Kalembe, during a meeting with the Rwanda Tour operators in South Western Uganda appealed to the Government to reduce Uganda Tourist Visa fee from 100USD to 50USD in order to attract more tourist to the pearl of Africa.
Uganda is gifted by nature; blessed with the savanna vegetation that favors the survival of a variety of wild animals that attracts tourists to the country.
Uganda is blessed with a number of national parks that includes, Kidepo National park, Murchison falls National Park, Kibale forest, Semuliki National park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi forest, Mgahinga National park and Lake Mburo National park.
Other Tourist destinations include; Lake Bunyonyi, Sipi falls, the source of River Nile in Jinja (relaxation), Mt.Elgon, Mt.Rwenzori –Magherita the peak (hiked 5-7 days), Mt.Gahinga, Mt.Muhavura and Mt. Sabinyo (hiked in a day).
With the reduction of the Tourist visa fee, the number of Tourists is expected to go up.
