UGANDA TO EMPHASISE “FRIEND A GORILLA” CAMPAIGN AT WORLD TRAVEL MARKET IN LONDON


“Friend a gorilla” campaign soon will be reaching the participants of World Travel Market next month and the tourists in London. The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) will lead a delegation comprising of tour operators, Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), National Forestry Authority and Uganda Coffee Development Authority to camp in London.
Following the launching of the campaign last month, the gorillas are going to be fronted as the main product from Uganda at the four-day event that brings together worldwide buyers and sellers from every sector of the Tourism industry.
“We want to claim our identity of the gorilla and give the “Friend a gorilla” campaign spearheaded by UWA, a spring board.” Said Mr. Edwin Muzahura, UTB’s marketing manager.
Last month, UWA invested Shs1.4 billion to bring in celebrities from Hollywood to help market gorillas around the world in a campaign dubbed “Friend a friend”. And soon there will be a website for the campaign “friend a gorilla”.
