Typhoon Phanfone is currently on a track from Southern Japan in a northwest direction. The projected path takes the typhoon over far southeastern Honshu late Sunday night or Monday with the centre expected to remain offshore.
Heavy rain is due in Tokyo from late Sunday accompanied by high winds that could lead to flight cancellations – though none are reported at this time.
At present all major destinations in Japan remain unaffected and continue to operate as normal according to current status reports from our office. Destination Asia Japan is monitoring the situation continuously and our staff are on full alert to react quickly and effectively should the need arise to alter any travel plans.
