As Rwanda strongly promotes itself to develop into a regional tourism destination, new international hotels will be built to start operating.
Rwanda’s Rica Rwigamba, head of Tourism and Conservation at Rwanda Development Board (RDB), said Hilton hotel which is an international chain hotel will soon be constructed in the country. She also said Serena and the Gorilla Group of hotels that are operating will start new branches in the country and that the recent hotels that exist in the country can shelter over 5,000 visitors.
Rwigamba said the construction of the new hotels like the new Gorilla hotel which is being built in Nyarutarama, Gasabo District, two new luxurious hotels that will start next year is a very good idea since the country is developing into a conference and tourism destination.
Because of the construction of more hotels, the competition in the hospitality sector will rise and this will attract more visitors into the country.
