This year, as Uganda marks its 50 years of independence, the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage is organizing a package of events to highlight the jubilee celebrations and promote the accolades the country has received in recognition of its natural resources.
The planned events include, amongst others:
- Search for the Golden Eggs (Easter, mid-term and Christmas holidays)
- Sights of Uganda Photo Competition with exhibitions (throughout the year)
- Golden Road Trips (Easter, mid-term and Christmas holidays)
- Event to Celebrate World Tourism Day
- Tourism Recognition of Excellence Awards (28th September 2012)
- 7 Wonders of Uganda (launch – 10th October 2012)
- Cultural Event Gala, Kampala (5th-8th October 2012)
- Uganda Tourism news, Uganda safari news and gorilla trekking
