In November 2015 Uganda’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Maria Mutagamba endorsed a regional agreement to uplift gorilla conservation in Uganda, Rwanda, and DR Congo. About 880 endangered mountain gorillas habitats in this East African regions of Bwindi forest, Mgahinga gorilla park, Volcano national park and Virunga park.
Gorilla trekking tours is the leading income earner in the Tourism industry of these three countries and every country was allocated $100,000 fee that is mandatory contribution to implement the agreement. Gorilla Tourism was the theme of the agreement.
Security implementation was to be considered paramount in the region and the main focus was on DR Congo that is politically unstable Gorilla trekking Tours and Gorilla tracking safaris
